Slideshows About 6 Black Heroes:
Michelle Obama
Michelle Obama is a multi-faceted leader. Her own family has very colorful roots, running many decades back through time – some of them Native American and others Irish and English. Before her husband, Barrack Obama, became President she worked in governing positions in various fields and institutions, for example in education, and even earned a Juris Doctorate. She used much of her time as First Lady, and still today, works adamantly to encourage and inspire children of all ages and in multiple nations to eat well, exercise and become involved in a sport. She has worked hard to expand our nation’s mindfulness and care of the mental and socio-economic well-being of our veterans. She has been an activist for the Special Olympics, for many categories of African-Americans, for persecuted women all over the world, for LGBT, and for the homeless, as well as other identity groups that need caring attention. She has cooperated with Oprah Winfrey in her social work and has been featured in most popular magazines as a model, partially of unique and culturally African and African-American clothing. Other parts of her work fall into the category of intrigue, for instance, by having the White House kitchen keep beehives and buy organic foods. Of course, she divided her time between all of these sorts of work and activism – and her motherhood, caring over her own two daughters – and no doubt being a highly exemplary mother…Enjoy a visual experience learning more about her in HD below!
